Our Origin Story

Our Origin Story

Howdy! I’m Alex - founder of Wild Critterz. Here’s a little tale about how this whole operation got kicked off.

It all started when I found my tribe working at ski resorts in my home state of Colorado, where the slopes and rivers were our meeting spots and laughter was our language. Fast forward to a pandemic-induced move to a small town, where the trails were fresh and the faces were new. It was here that I stumbled into vibrant women-led outdoor groups, which eventually led me to a spur-of-the-moment fundraising climb with SheJumps. Picture this: me, teary-eyed and freezing, hugging my new pals at the summit of Mt. Rainier at dawn. That climb really nailed it down for me — the outdoors wasn’t just about the adrenaline and accomplishment; it was about the folks cheering you on from basecamp to peak.

Wild Critterz originally began with the thought of inking a zesty cat on a mountain bike on my arm during a bike trip in Whistler. Instead, I decided on something a little less permanent but just as meaningful. Taking a nod from my love for collecting enamel pins from my travels, I dreamt up a way to share my sense of adventure, camaraderie, and goofy fun like a cat shredding on a mountain bike. Thus, Wild Critterz was born, starting with the idea of an enamel pin and growing into a  lifestyle apparel brand for adrenaline junkies and outdoor lovers.

We aren't really about the gear — it’s about the stories of friendship, the crackle of campfires, and those “you had to be there” moments. It’s about creating and celebrating those experiences, whether you’re 14,000 feet up or chilling by a lake with your friends. Wild Critterz represents your badge of honor, your slice of the wild, and a reminder of all the goofy, glorious times spent outdoors.

So here’s to the thrill-seekers and the nature lovers, to the high-fives at the summit, and to the shared smiles that make every journey unforgettable.

We're all just Critterz and we're all a little Wild.
