1% for the Planet
At Wild Critterz, we don’t just explore wild places—we help protect them. As a 1% for the Planet member, we're committing to donating 1% of all sales (not just profits) to environmental nonprofits working to preserve public lands, restore ecosystems, and build a sustainable future.
Founded by Patagonia’s Yvon Chouinard and Blue Ribbon Flies’ Craig Mathews, 1% for the Planet connects businesses with vetted nonprofit organizations that drive measurable, on-the-ground impact. Since its launch, the movement has helped direct hundreds of millions of dollars toward conservation, sustainability, and environmental education worldwide.

Organizations We Love
Wild Critterz supports and admires a variety of nonprofits that align with our mission to protect public lands, restore ecosystems, and keep outdoor spaces wild and accessible. There are countless organizations doing important work in these areas, and we want to highlight a handful that we particularly love.
The Wilderness Society
Working to permanently protect wild places, The Wilderness Society advocates for strong conservation policies and responsible outdoor access.
National Forest Foundation (NFF)
Focused on restoring national forests, NFF leads reforestation projects, wildfire recovery efforts, and trail maintenance to keep public lands healthy.
National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA)
Dedicated to defending national parks, NPCA works to secure funding, policy protections, and environmental safeguards for some of America’s most iconic landscapes.
Protect Our Winters (POW)
A nonprofit uniting outdoor enthusiasts, POW focuses on climate action to protect the future of winter sports and mountain ecosystems.
The Nature Conservancy
A global leader in habitat restoration, clean water initiatives, and reforestation, The Nature Conservancy helps conserve millions of acres of land and marine ecosystems.
Local National Park “Friends of” Groups
Some of the most effective conservation work happens at the local level, especially in our national parks. These nonprofit partners raise funds, organize volunteers, and advocate for policies that protect the parks we love:
- Zion National Park Forever Project – Funding trail restoration, wildlife research, and conservation education in Zion National Park.
- Grand Teton National Park Foundation – Supporting wildlife protection, historic preservation, and accessibility efforts in Grand Teton National Park.
- Washington’s National Park Fund – The official philanthropic partner of Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks, funding projects from habitat restoration to scientific research.
